Good vs. Evil
Jan 01, 2006The question of good vs. evil is one that has plagued philosophers and theologians for centuries, but it may be the simplest to answer.
If you are reading this blog post then you are probably aware of the innate duality found in life, which means there can never be only one side.
Consider the following: Is a mother's love purely good? What about when her child does something wrong?
The same can be said with anything else - fire is used for warmth and cooking food, yet it also destroys homes and burns people alive; rain falls on both sides of town; electricity powers our modern world while killing innocent people with power lines down after storms; even gravity is powerful enough to make us feel weightless as we jump off bridges or buildings.
Duality is born from the self's original feeling of separation. Me-not me, up-down, in-out, good-bad are all born from that.
Would learning about the relativity of good and bad affect the world?
Judgment is the common theme underneath the motion of time and the attributes of good and bad.
Judgment can manifest in many ways including time, duality, good-bad attributes--judgment is present everywhere because it's born from our original feeling of separation.
Even though this information may seem profound or even confusing at first glance, take some time today and really think about your own judgments and where you might loosen your attachment.
